Mam Sonando, president of Association of Democrats and owner of Beehive Radio, was sent to court on Monday today after he was arrested yesterday on charges of sedition and a "secessionist" plot against the government. However, observers and human rights organisations said the charges were trumped up.

About 30 members of the association as well as some human rights activists and journalists were outside the court.
"We haven’t assumed anything. We only know that he wasn’t involved in the land dispute." said Mam Sonando’s wife Din Phanara. "If the court system is just, Mam Sonando will be released."
Mam Sonando was arrested on Sunday morning after returning from abroad last week.
Dhin Phanara expressed hope that the French Embassy would help her husband since he had dual citizenship.
She said she had already called for assistance on Sunday from the embassy and other international institutions but had not yet received a response.

Please stand with Mr Mam Sonondo in this situation to support him.He is very brave man to face injustice from the Cpp jungle's ruler (Hun cent) justice will prevail in his favor I pray to god to help him through this darkest day in history of Cambuja.
Mr. Mam Sonando knew so well the situation before rturning to his country Cambodia.
Later or soon, he will be release from the Cambodian authority and able to continue his work for developing the democracy in our country.

I'm not so sure that he is stand for the opposition party.
I don't believe he is try to create a state with in the state. I think Prime Minister Hun Sen needs not to listen too much to people aruond him. They are just a bunch of ass kissers.
I know by facts that Mr. Mam has give alot of money and foods to the poor and the needy. He has tried to provide a place where people can call homes. It's not wrong.
Mr Mam ,does not have to come back to Cambodia,but he has to come back to prove that he was innocent of wrong doing! But jungle court of Cpp is blinded as a bat,putting an innocent man in jail charged with unfounded evidence.
Mr Mam is a hero,braves man indeed!...Cpp regime must stop this accusation that is baseless and the court system must be overhaul , corruption must be destroyed so does Cpp foe.
