PHNOM PENH, July 16 (Xinhua) -- More than 40 pieces of Chinese
paintings and calligraphy are on display here on Monday, aimed at
promoting cultural relationship between China and Cambodia, an organizer
said at the event.
They are works of 17 prolific artists in 11 provinces in China, said Lu Zhenghui, executive director of the International department of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Operators Association.
She said the prolific artists include Yang Jianchen, China's first-level fine arts teacher, Zhang Jinrong, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, Zheng Shaomin, former director of Art Edition Department in Chinese Workers Press, and the national first-class painter Li Gang.
"It is the first time we display pieces of Chinese paintings and poems in Cambodia in order to promote Chinese paintings in Cambodia and to boost cultural ties between China and Cambodia," she said. The one-day event was held in the Naga World Hotel in Phnom Penh.
