Cambodian Ministry of Defence dismisses reports that Cambodian troops fired on a Thai commercial airline and has issued a statement asking local and international media to stop speculating and sensationalising the event of the alleged shooting of the Thai plane in order to avoid misunderstanding and wrong interpretation of the event.
On Thursday, local and international media reported that Cambodian troops had fired at a Bangkok Airways which encircling the disputed area near Preah Vihear temple several times. However, Cambodian troops said it was a spy plane, not a Bangkok Airways plane.
The statement from the Cambodian Ministry of Defence said Cambodia has no reason to fire at a civilian airline, but added that Cambodia has every right to self-defence in the event of a violation of Cambodian airspace by hostile (spy) aircrafts.

កំពុងធ្វើការស៊ើបអង្កេតចំពោះឧប្បត្តិហេតុដែលបានកើតឡើងនោះ។ជាមួយគ្នានេះ អ្នកនាំពាក្យក្រសួងការពារជាតិប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ក៏បានរំលឹកផងដែរថា កម្ពុជាគ្មានហេតុផលណា ដែលធ្វើឲ្យមានការប៉ះពាល់ ឬរំខានដល់សុវត្ថិភាព នៃការហោះហើរស៊ីវិលនោះទេ។ ប៉ុន្តែទោះជាយ៉ាងនេះក៏ដោយ ក្រសួងការពារជាតិស្ថិតនៅក្នុងកាតព្វកិច្ច និងសិទ្ធិរបស់ខ្លួន ក្នុងកិច្ចការពារអធិបតេយ្យ នៃលំហអាកាសរបស់កម្ពុជា ដែលមិនត្រូវបានរំលោភ ឬឈ្លានពាននោះឡើយ។
សូមរំលឹកថា កាលពីថ្ងៃពុធសប្តាហ៍នេះមានសេចក្តីរាយការណ៍ថា យន្តហោះមួយគ្រឿងដែលគេសង្ស័យថាជាយន្តហោះស៊ើបការណ៍ថៃ ត្រូវបានទាហានកម្ពុជាបាញ់ក្នុងទឹកដីខេត្តបន្ទាយមានជ័យកម្ពុជា។ ប៉ុន្តែប្រទេសថៃបានបកស្រាយថា យន្តហោះនោះគឺជាយន្តហោះដឹកអ្នកដំណើររបស់ក្រុមហ៊ុនអាកាសចរណ៍ បាងកកអ៊ែរវ៉េ ដែលមិនអាចចុះចតនៅអាកាសយានដ្ឋានខេត្តសៀមរាបបានព្រោះតែអាកាស ធាតុអាក្រក់ ហើយក៏បានហោះទៅក្បែរតំបន់ហាមឃាត់របស់កងទ័ពកម្ពុជានោះ៕

Cambodian army still use stone age weapons...This type of gun should be in recycle bin for recycling...You need very hight weapons with computerize systems today!
Today they have one man sitting controlling robots troops, robots army, drone plane, they don't have to waste too many men on the field......We still using ww1 weapons??
