PHNOM PENH, 5 July 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Some 400 paramilitary
forces led by Prime Minister Hun Sen’s son Hun Manith headed to
different provinces Thursday under the third phase of a voluntary mission to redistribute land.
Land Minister Im Chhun Lim said the mission would take from six to eight days to measure 1.2 million hectares of land being given to 350,000 families with free land titles.
Since June 28, 126 youth groups have traveled to 13 provinces, Im Chun Lim said, adding that the government planned to assign 168 groups overall.
Each group has 12 members and is equipped with GPS devices and computers to measure the land. Military medical personnel are on standby to provide health services, sources said.
