16-year-old prostitute detained after parents arrested [Mother said, daughter said: Who is right, who is wrong here?]

BANTEY MEANCHAY (Cambodia Herald) - Prosecutors on Tuesday sent the case of a 16-year-old girl chained up by her parents to the provincial court.

Police arrested the parents over the weekend after a photo of the detained girl circulated on Facebook.

A police source said on Tuesday, however, that prosecutors found the case
"so complicated" and
had sent it to the provincial judge.

All three are now being held at the Anti-Human Trafficking and Minor Protection Unit at Bantey Meanchey police station.

"What the parents say is not the same as what's being said by the girl, who lost her virginity when she was 13 years old," the police source said.

El Som Oun, the 39-year-old mother, said her daughter had been taking drugs and working as a prostitute across the border from Poipet in Aranyapratheth.

Speaking to Cambodia Express News (CEN), an affiliate of The Cambodia Herald, she said she and her husband asked Thai police to intervene after discovering that their daughter was staying at a hotel in Thailand.

El Som Oun added that when she entered the Thai hotel room she herself saw her intoxicated naked daughter having sex with a customer.

After Thai police prepared documents to send the girl back to Cambodia on Thursday last week, the mother said she and her husband decided to detain her at home as she was trying to escape.

On the other hand, the police source said the daughter claimed her mother forced her to have sex with a foreign casino customer when she was 13 years old.

The parents, however, insist their daughter is a drug addict who has been sleeping with many men. They also accused their daughter of taking her sister across the border this year to have sex with men in Thailand.

"They decided to chain their daughter up because they had no choice but they also reported the case to the reporters," the source said.

នាងបន្តថា នាងក្លាយជាក្មេងស្រីសុំទាន តាំងពីតូច រហូតដល់អាយុ ១២ ឆ្នាំ ក្លាយជាស្ត្រីរកស៊ីផ្លូវភេទ តាំងពីអាយុ ១៣ឆ្នាំម៉្លេះ ព្រោះតែដើម្បីចិញ្ចឹមឪពុកម្តាយ និងប្អូនៗ ៧នាក់ទៀត ក្នុងបន្ទុក ហូតដល់ពេលនេះ នាងមានអាយុ ១៥ ឆ្នាំហើយ នាងពុំដែលបានទៅរៀនសូត្រឡើយ។

ទន្ទឹមគ្នានោះ នាងក៏បានបង្ហាញស្លាកស្នាមជើង ដែលឪពុកម្តាយដាក់ច្រវាក់ និងស្នាមជាំមួយចំនួន ដែលឪពុកម្តាយវាយធ្វើបាប ក្នុងនោះរួមទាំងការកាត់សក់ឱ្យខ្លី ទៀតផង ក្រៅពីនេះ ពេលនាងវិលត្រឡប់ពីរកលុយ ត្រូវឪពុកម្តាយឆែកឆេរសព្វខ្លួនប្រាណ ព្រោះខ្លាចនាងលាក់លុយកាក់ ។ ពេលអ្នកជិតខាងសួរនាំ ឪពុកម្តាយ របស់នាងបានប្រាប់គេថា នាងតែងតែដើរលេងមិនចូលផ្ទះ និងមានគំនិតមិនល្អ ចង់រត់ចោលផ្ទះជាញឹកញាប់ ទើបពួកគាត់ចាប់ដាក់ច្រវាក់បែបនេះទៅ។
