On Saturday at The Ambassador City
Hotel on Sukhumvit Road, the 13th Thai & Cambodia Regional Border
Committee met, to exchange opinions and seek better solutions for
managing the borders. Thailand was represented by the Commissioner of
Chantaburi and Trad’s Border Protection Force, Vice Admiral Pongsak
Purirote, and Cambodia was represented by the Region 3 Commissioner Gen.
Gaew Samuan.
The meeting reviewed the
situations of the Chantaburi and Trad borders, and looked to create firm
friendships between the 2 countries. A well maintained border can
assist the residents of both countries with their economies, safety,
health care and environmental concerns, and contribute to the peace of
all who reside around the borders of Chantaburi and Trad provinces in
Eastern Thailand. As a famous poet once said, “Good fences make good
neighbors.”
