Hun Sen says merged opposition parties pose no threat to CPP [Hun Sen is right if we believe in Stalin's political slogan]

“Those who cast the votes decide nothing.
Those who count the votes decide everything.” Stalin

PHNOM PENH, 7 June 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Prime Minister Hun Sen said Thursday that a merger between the opposition Sam Rainsy Party and Human Rights Party would not  threaten the ruling Cambodian People's Party.

Speaking at the inauguration of roadworks in Banteay Meanchey province, Hun Sen urged the two opposition parties to study the votes they received in Sunday's commune elections.

Describing the Human Rights Party as "very assertive," he noted that it still needed more than three million votes to rival the CPP. Together, the two parties require two million more votes to challenged the ruling party, he added.

The Human Rights Party "has only 570,000 votes, equal to 9.97 percent, while the other party has just more than 1.2 million votes, equal to 20.93 percent, which together are less than half of those of the CPP," the prime minister said.

Unofficial results show the CPP winning 3,630,655 votes, equal to 61.93 percent and up from 3,148,533 votes or 60.82 percent in the last commune elections in 2007.

Stalin's slogan is so right in Cambodia's current election process. It doesn't matter which party the people voted for, what matters is the NEC counted all the votes for the ruling CPP, that's why it won.

Gentlemens stop blaming the wrong entities. NEC didn't let CPP win. Opposition parties are doing things that our peoples got turn off. Khmers don't want change change change. They wanted stability, improvement, border integrity, which the CPP had done. Yes problems corruptions, land evictions, some political murders, some human right violations. For the most part the CPP kepT these in checks. Majority of peoples had enjoy their lives of stability not worry about unrest, civil war, genocides. Now if you tell me these are not improvements than you are blind. CPP are very clever exploiting these needs of Khmer peoples. Also STOP using Viets card game, these are old and boring.

Opposition must change tactics and not preaching the same old speeches. STOP bickering among themselves, stop been egotism, stop been bragging off, stop seeking for helps from these FAKE foreigner friends, Srop blaming game, these are very things peoples hates.
IF OPPOSITION PARTIES ARE REAL PATRIOTICS, CARING, DEMOCRACY MERGE DAM IT BEFORE GENERAL ELECTION.

4:20 AM, you said NEC didn't cheat? What about people who were not allowed to vote, not allowed to register to vote and those supporting CPP have 2, 3 or 4 names to vote? And the counting? Do you think that "the hens laying eggs on the rice did not eat rice?"

If the CPP or Hun Sen is so sure that his party is so popular with voters, why did not he allow an independent NEC? Or appoint some of the officials from NGOs or oppositions to NEC? Why he refused to recognize the 1993 election results, which was the most fair election in Cambodian history?

The only thing to test the real popularity of the CPP and the oppositions is to have an independent election committee running the show, not the CPP-appointed NEC.
