PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) – Cambodia is among the countries
dominating international trade in rice, according to a report released
Friday by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
The Global Monitoring report cited a World Bank study in 2011 showing that Thailand was the biggest rice trader with 31 percent of the market followed by Vietnam with 18 percent.
India, Pakistan and the United States came next with each accounting for 10-11 percent of global rice trade. Cambodia, China and Uruguay followed, accounting for 3 percent each.
