PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) -Cambodia now has 14 million mobile phone subscribers, equivalent to 98 percent of the country's population, Invest in Cambodia magazine reported.
"Mobile phone coverage extends to approximately 85 percent of Cambodia," Telecommunications Minister So Khun (pictured) was quoted as saying.
With eight mobile phone operators, the report noted that most Cambodians had multiple numbers to take advantage of promotions and avoid network congestion.

I believe it, my relatives in rural Rattakiri all have cell phones, now keeping them on all the time is a different story.
almost everyone that carry a cell phone in cambodia have multiple numbers (each number count as one subscriber?) I visited cambodia 8 times and every time I visit, I open a new set of number and almost every time, with multiple carriers/providers. Number are cheap and different calling benefits/promotions with different providers. Some carrier is good within city limits while some better reception way from the city limits. Some provider charge less for international call. So it's almost you got to have more than one set of number and more than carrier/provider in order to stay in touch with your love ones.
