PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) – Borei Keila residents on Monday sought to
prevent an inter-ministerial committee from granting 4,300 square
meters of land to property developer Phanimex Co.
Interior Minister Sar Kheng also appealed for intervention to prevent the land from being transferred.
"The land belongs to us, not the company or the authorities," said Pich Lim Khourn, a representative of Borei Keila residents. "Prime Minister Hun Sen has conceded two hectares of land to us."
The Phnom Penh Municipal Court, however, has ruled that City Hall is bound by a cabinet office order on January 12 to grant the 4,300 square meters of land to Phanimex
