Phnom Penh Post
Cambodia has been awash with rumours that Sir Elton John (pictured) would be staging a concert at Angkor Wat in November, but when contacted by the Post, Sir Elton’s tour organisers said no deal had been done for the English superstar to play in the Kingdom.
Keith Bradley, Sir Elton’s world wide tour director, said: “Elton is looking at doing some shows in Asia later in the year, but at this stage nothing is confirmed.”
While Angkor Wat would be a spectacular backdrop to any concert, and has been in the past, local event organisers were doubtful a big production like an Elton John concert would be viable for local promoters in Cambodia.
