New K-pop television drama to be broadcast in Cambodia

Published: 04-Feb-12

PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) -South Korean entertainment company CJ E&M has announced that its new K-pop television drama "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" launched earlier this week will be broadcast in Cambodia and eight other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

“The individual acting of the flower boys, the exciting content of Korean dramas, and the stylish visuals will be appealing to the younger audiences of these various Asian countries,” the company said in a statement Friday.

CJ E&M also said the drama had strong "hallyu" potential, referring to the Korean wave of popular entertainment that has taken Asian youth by storm in recent years.

Centered on a high school band called Eye Candy, the 16-episode drama is currently airing on South Korea's tvN network every Monday and Tuesday at 11 p.m.

It was not immediately clear who the Cambodian distributor is or when the K-pop drama will be broadcast in Cambodia.
