A Chinese company is aiming to invest in cement production in Cambodia, according to officials at the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy (MIME).

Cement imported from Thailand.
The China Triumph International Engineering Company (CTIEC) would become one of Cambodia’s biggest cement producers and would invest in the Kingdom, said assistant to the CTIEC president Ma Mingliang.

Although contracts for producing cement in Cambodia had been given out to various local companies, said Sim Sisokha, director of the Development Department at MIME, CTIEC’s proposed investments would be welcomed because some local companies lack the capital for large-scale production.

Investing in Cambodian cement production is risky, however, says Khov Phallabuth, a local investor in Kampot Cement Co, a joint venture with Thailand’s Siam Cement Group.

The country lacks the natural resources to produce large quantities of cement, he says.

I remember we had cement factory in Chakkrei Ting in the old day. I noticed that people all the world use the word "Cement Portland" as it printed on the bag. What is it the attribute Portland? Is it the proper name of the raw material or some things?.
Can we make a deal with Singapore. We want a canal from Phnom Penh to Kampot. If Singapore dig the canal, she can have the dig out materials to enlarge her Island! Now I call that a win win relationship but if gold were found in the digging process,I should have 10 Kg because of my idea. 5 Kg will go to Khmerization because my idea is expressed here. Do I dream too much?!

Why should we Khmer people build our own Cement Factories ourselves?

This bad CPP regime did not do anything to help many young Khmer people to build the skills and go to schools and universities to get educations?

Only rich and young people only bought the degrees and diplomas to show off for nothing. These greedy riches did not build anything to develop and grow economy and improve the qualities of Khmer people lives. These greedy riches just enjoy the wealth, power, party animals and prostitutes. They are only 1% of evil rich power comparing to 99 % of people powers.

Khmer people of all races, please keep going and fight for our future of Khmer people, nation and children

No more Communist CPP, no more Communist Vietnamese evils from Hanoi

11:06 AM,according to Wikipedia :Portland cement was developed from natural cements made in Britain in the early part of the nineteenth century, and its name is derived from its similarity to Portland stone, a type of building stone that was quarried on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, England.
