AKP Phnom Penh, February 27, 2012 –A delegation led by H.E. Norbert Baas, the German Ambassador to ASEAN, on Feb. 23 met with Deputy Prime Minister Sok An, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers to understand the nature of conflict and current development between Cambodia and Thailand.
H.E. Sok An shared with the guests reasons behind the conflict wherein UNESCO and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have been involved.
The new government of Thailand under the leadership of H.E. Yingluck Shinawatra reduces remarkably the border tension between the two countries and is complying with the verdict issued by the ICJ, he said.
Cambodia is currently implementing the development and conservation plan at and around Preah Vihear Temple guided by the UNESCO.
