Free Trade Union leader supports Sar Kheng’s statement

Published: 22-Feb-12

PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) – Free Trade Union leader Chea Mony on Wednesday welcomed remarks by Interior Minister Sar Kheng (pictured) who ordered police to stop harassing protesting workers.

In a statement, he said Sar Kheng’s remarks on Tuesday would encourage police and other authorities to follow Cambodian law and put an end to violence in labor disputes.

At the same time, Chea Mony noted that police and soldiers often hit protesting workers, violating their human rights.

Had any policeman/woman ever been shot by 'armed' protesters?

Do protesters carry weapons like pistols, assault rifles, machine guns etc. backed by water hose, shields, protective helmets . . . ?

Police and troops were usually get their orders from heartless rich, powerful peoples. They will have to do their jobs or they will loose theirs or worst. Yes they were many occasions get too cruel and over reactive against protestors. My ideas is that there must be boundary between Police and protestors.

1. Police and troops must use force ONLY their or others safety is at risk. These force must be sufficient but not be abuse that cause fatal or seriously injured.

2. Police and troops must not be control by rich or powerful individual.

3. Protestors must protest peacefully reframe from violence against police, troops, and others. They must reframe from abusive words. They must not create falsely accusations.

4. Protestors must not throw objects at police, troops, and others.

5. Protestors must not block or put city traffic in danger.

6. There must be free press to to report the truths, not just government puppet press.

7. Protestors must respect law enforcements.

These some of the points in my opinions what I had observed that must be follow through by protestors, police, troops, bystanders, others in order to have a civilize protest and avoid anyone been hurts unnecessary. OH what happen to most the men in Cambodia. I mostly see ONLY old, children, woman protest. I think most these men are coward and let their wives, childrens, parents get hurt. Just one man opinions living in U.S.

Please Khmers stop hating each others.

The only to unify Cambodia and eliminate the CPP is to become a province for China. It's a no brainer, just do it.

I halfly agrees with you. Khmer men are cowards. They prefers to get drunk, abuse their spouse, cheat on younger girls then to fight for their families. Often women are left to look after the children with no support no income. This is the cycle of coward men in the Kingdom of Wonder.

To above thanks for reading my bloggs. You know as Khmer man I hate to call my fellow Khmers cowards. Sadly but it is the truth. That one of the reason why our neighbors was able to control us Khmers. We lost so much land and sea borders because of laziness, cowards, greed, jealousy, etc. These men sadly beat up their spouses and get drunk. Although there are SOME Khmer men who also loves and support their family. We can't take away the bravery our troops facing the Thai thief despite the odd against them. The troops are Khmer men too. I am here in U.S.A safely and felt kinda shame, guilty of not able to help contribute to defend our motherland Cambodia.

Please my fellow Khmers love and care for one another. Peace to our country. Love you Cambodia

23 February 2012 1:57 PM. I would also like to add that Khmer-American, sadly as it seems are not any better then of those coward Khmer inside Cambodia.

I have seen to many old Khmer men using money to marry young girls with the promise of taking her to America, or having 2nd girlfriends or 2nd wife. This culture must stop.

I think Sam Sary was wrong when he told British cops that beating and cheating on one wife is a typical thing of the Cambodian guy's life.Likewise, now there are no men to be seen to protest in front of the garment factory and you denounced that Khmer men are typically not involved! Are you morons? Only the women are the employees of that facory for crying out loud.

To above I understand that but these women boyfriend, husband, brother, uncle, father etc etc etc. Anyone can join hand with these women if it peaceful protest.

Most of protest is about land dispute, most protestors are women, children, old people and very few able body men. Men over there are lazy and cowards, I will stand by my own observations. Yes there are few brave and responsible men over there but too few.

These women staged a peaceful protest for pay raise only.Someone who expect Lotus Uprising might get frustrated for awhile. It may come or it may not.

23 February 2012 2:59 PM. Khmer men are cowards. 6000 Women and few men. What were the police(MEN) doing while the shooters was shooting into the protesters?

While the women works to save money, their partners and husbands probably stays at home with his 2nd gf or mistress, or getting drunk. I have seen to many coward men in the Kingdom of wonder.

The Irony is that, those LAZY DRUNKEN MEN often blames the Youn but does nothing about it.

Dont cry to much DICK SNIFFER, if you want to cry try to cry with the nation. Sam Sary has little to way with the way dictator Hun Sen suffocate the nation trying to hold into his seats.

24 February 2012 7:31 PM.

If I become PM, i will not use force eviction, i will not use violence, i will use my mandated role to perform my given duty as elected by the people, i will not be involved in court procedure, i will not have 4000 bodyguards, i will protect all national land and national resources to create more jobs and livelihood, i will not my words as the rules of law.

Killing is the last thing i want to see from my Khmer people, so is poor healthcare, poor education, poor basic living needs.

Lastly, if I become the PM, loosing a live is losing a piece of our national heritage. It sad to see our countrymen and women working and fleeing overseas as fisherman, maids, loggers, streetwalker, hidden mistress and 2nd wife, in this days of age.

Honestly, if you put a monkey in Hun Sen's seat, the monkey can perform the job 10 times better, at no cost to our national heritage!

Thanks,
