The younger brother of a prominent business tycoon was sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday for allegedly killing a man last week.
Chamkarmon district police chief Ouch Sokhon said that 32-year-old Chea Ratank, younger brother of Chea Ratana, who owns the Cambodian Commercial Bank, was accused of shooting and fatally wounding a young man last Thursday.
“He was arrested by police on January 5 after he shot a victim dead in front of his house in Tumnop Teuk commune, Ouch Sokhon told the Post yesterday.
“He was sent to court for charges this afternoon.”
A Tumnop Teuk commune police officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Post yesterday that the shooting happened when Chea Ratank arrived home and found four young people standing in front of his entrance.
“To expel them, he fired a bullet into the air,” the officer said.
“He fired two more bullets at them because he was angry with them … because they looked at his face,” the officer said.

Cambodian authority must put pressure on crooks people, i meant rich tycoon and powerful family, when these people commited crimes they usually got off the hook by paying $$$ to victims!...This is why cambodia never going forward and progress..???

"Hun Sen should address this matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!"They need to punish those people who trap dog and cat for meat selling....If they can protect animal in the wild and why they can't protect animal like dog/cat?? Stop eating them or kill them for meat selling. They are our pet-our friend...

Fuck man, even animals have rights? Democracy is fucking great. Bra-fucking-vo to freedoms and democracy man. Shouldn't you be telling people to stop abusing domestic animals or pets such as cats, dogs, etc. It is disgusting that some people eat man best friend. They need to stop this digusting practice, or pay fine. I can tell in Cambodia, Cambodian don't eat dogs or cats. Those people that eat those animals are mostly Vietnamese immigrants. To make laws protecting those abuse domestic animals would be ridiculous. This law might work in America or other westen countries, but in Asia, you would be consider a stupidass. I don't know why those western countreis don't give rights to cow, chicken, turkey, dear, fish, and a few other animals that they consume over their dinner table.
Hun Sen can make it happen...Stop people from killing dog and cat for meat selling in cambodia!!
