Phnom Penh (Cambodia Herald)-Police arrested Workers Democratic Union leader Lim Bora Friday after he was found wearing a cap usually reserved for members of the bodyguard unit of Prime Minister Hun Sen. The arrest came during a strike by workers at Yeak Chheng Handicrafts demanding monthly salaries of at least 60 dollars as well as monthly and annual bonuses in line with garment factories.
Police released the union leader later Friday after warning him that only Hun Sen bodyguards could wear the distinctive caps which bear two Khmer letters [HS] forming the initials of the prime minister's name.
A spokesman said Yeak Chheng was not a factory but a sub-contractor with only 100 workers.
