(SeeNews Asia Pacific) - Jan 2, 2012 - Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to jointly build the Stung Num hydropower dam in Koh Kong, adjacent to Thailand's Trat province,The Bangkok Post said, citing Thai Energy Minister Pichai Naripthaphan.
Cambodia is looking to immediately start work on the project, after Thailand agreed to purchase the facility's output, the newspaper said.
The project was first proposed in 2008 but was delayed due to political conflicts. Following a recent political meeting, Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to form a joint working group to construct the hydropower facility.
