THE first annual music festival in Clarkefield will feature some of Australia's finest musicians who will join forces to raise money for children and their families living in poverty in Cambodia.

All money will go to building a new school for more than 1000 children in the Kampong Thom province.

Musicians to perform at the festival include Kim Salmon, Nick Barker, Hope Addicts, Dead River Deeps, James McCann, Brother Johnstone, Saint Jude and Jed Cardwell.

With barbecue food, cold drinks, a jumping castle and great music, it's a perfect way to spend a Sunday and raise much-needed funds, publican Paul Levey says.

"All the door takings, everything is going 100 per cent to the Woodend-based Cambodian Kids Foundation. We're not making a profit on anything for ourselves," Mr Levey says.

Mr Levey and his partner Michele are keen supporters of the foundation.

Their daughter Nicole is heading to Cambodia at the end of this month with a group of people to help children in Soksan Village with sports and education.

The March 18 festival is at the Clarkefield Hotel Coach and Horses Inn, 50 Station Street, Clarkefield.

Gates will open at noon. Tickets at the gate are $20, with children under 12 admitted free.
