HIGH-RANKING military officials from Cambodia and Thailand will discuss an International Court of Justice verdict ordering the withdrawal of troops from a demilitarised zone around Preah Vihear temple at a long-awaited meeting of the General Border Committee in the capital on Wednesday, officials said yesterday.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Chhum Socheat said officials would discuss bilateral cooperation on border security to fight terrorism, drug smuggling and human trafficking, as well as the ICJ verdict, at the GBC meeting.

A firm agenda would be set at the GBC’s secretariat meeting in Phnom Penh today, he said.

សុភាសិត្តខ្មែរ "នៅផ្ទះយើងមានម្ដាយទិទៃ តែនៅក្នុងព្រៃយើងមានម្ដាយតែមួយ"
In case Thailand attacks our Country, sure most of the Khmer born live around the world will support our country Cambodia and Khmer people.

Cambodia must be prepared in peaceful time. We must use a big chunk of GDP to stockpile on modern weapons. When the time comes, we will unleash on the Thai. They should learn a lesson and never dare to attack us again.

Interesting concept of applying the word "ព្រៃ" to mean abroad, afar! However I agree with this far stretching meaning of this beautiful Khmer proverb.
I have asked Khmer Academy of Letter to translate the word diaspora into khmer language because the word អាណិកជន is out of meaning. Few months had passed no one seems to come up with any khmer word that suitable or even no one seem to care!. I'm afraid that next, people living abroad including myself will be called
"មនុស្សព្រៃ!",I take the liberty of creating one or two Khmer words to mean diaspora.
Male diaspora = និរាខិត្រា
Female diaspora =
After all if Khmers had accepted
the word សុរិយោដី,the 2 new words of mine should then not be rejected unless someone shows me a better alternative! I was thinking about the word ជនប្រាសស្រុក but it sounded awful!
PM Hun Sen,please help spread my 2 new words,if you're really cared about Khmer abroad!!!
