PHNOM PENH, December 29, 2011 (CEN) - Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong said that about 90,000 of the estimated 250,000 Cambodians working in Thailand were now doing so legally with identity cards and work permits, and that such registration would continue until February.
Speaking after a meeting with Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Hor Nam Hong said he had requested more time to register workers if the February deadline could not be met. He added that the Thai foreign minister agreed to discuss the issue with the Ministry of Labor in Thailand.
