Mr. Kem Sokha, president of the Human Rights Party (HRP), has denied media reports that the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) has sought the support of the HRP in the upcoming election.
The HRP has three MPs who are eligible to vote in the senate election. Sokha said his party has voluntarily chosen to vote for the SRP instead of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP). "We have not received any lobby from the SRP. The HRP has not put any candidates in the senate election. We have discussed which party to vote for? The MPs from the HRP have planned to vote for the SRP's candidates, because at least it is better than voting for the ruling CPP", said Kem Sokha.
