AKP Phnom Penh, December 15, 2011 –The Cambodian northwestern province of Banteay Meanchey has tied alliance with China’s Yunnan province.
The alliance agreement was inked last week during the visit of Banteay Meanchey provincial delegation led by its governor H.E. Ung Oeun to Yunnan province.
Under the agreement, both sides will exchange experiences and cooperate in different fields including economy, agriculture, trade, tourism, science, culture, arts, education, public administration, etc. for common development and mutual benefit.
In 1996, Yunnan tied alliance with Cambodia’s Siem Reap province with remained achievement is model farm in Siem Reap province.
Besides Yunnan, Banteay Meanchey signed in July 2011 a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of sister province relationship with Vietnam’s Dong Thap province to strengthen the cooperation, solidarity and friendship.
