AKP Phnom Penh, November 8, 2011 –Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen met here this morning at the Peace Palace with Mr. Soichi Okazaki, Chief Executive Officer of the Japan-based AEON Mall Co., Ltd.
AEON Mall Co., Ltd. has been present in Cambodia since 1998 and it has so far built 149 school buildings across the country, H.E. Ieng Sophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters.
In the meeting, Mr. Soichi Okazaki told Samdech Techo Hun Sen of his company’s plan to construct one more school building and to open shopping centers in Cambodia.
AEON Mall Co., Ltd. is planning to invest around US$6 million in building shopping centers in Phnom Penh and other provinces, which will provide from 1,500 to 2,500 jobs to Cambodian people, he said.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the AEON Mall Co., Ltd. for the school buildings and welcomed the company’s investment plan, H.E. Ieng Sophalet said.
