On 21 September 2011, two SRP activists – Mr. Pa Sarin, the SRP council chairman from Ponhea Loeu district, Kandal province, and Mr. Po Chantheng, the 2nd commune council from Kampong Oss commune, Ponhea Loeu district, Kandal province – were wooed by a bribe to join the CPP by Chrea Sochenda, a secretary of state at the Council of Ministers.
Chrea Sochenda gave $100 to Mr. Po Chantheng and he gave $45 to Mr. Pa Sarin. Being faithful to the SRP and to the voters who provided their support to them, the two SRP activists reported the case to the SRP leadership in Kandal province, informing them about the buyout bribe attempt from Chrea Sochenda.
This is the second time that a CPP official was defeated in dishonor in their attempt to buy out SRP activists in Kandal province.
The SRP expresses its respect and its praise to all SRP activists who are faithful in their struggle to serve the interest of the Nation and the Cambodian people by not being scared of threat and by refusing to be bought off.
