[Vietnam's] Public Security Minister leads visit to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH – A high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security led by Minister Tran Dai Quang(pictured) on a working visit to Cambodia held talks with Sar Kheng, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior yesterday.

Quang stressed the significance of the fruitful traditional relationship between Viet Nam and Cambodia over the years.

Viet Nam and Cambodia needed to consolidate and expand their co-operation in national defence and security, especially in the prevention of transnational crimes.

The Vietnamese minister underlined the resolve of the two countries' leaders to building a peaceful and stable common border and co-operating for mutual development, as well as their commitments to preventing hostile forces from using one country's territory to launch harmful activities against the other.

Both host and guest agreed to continue implementing agreements signed by the two ministries, especially the Co-operation Plan in 2011 between the two countries' public security agencies in crime prevention, social security and order, and personnel training.

Minister Sar Kheng briefed his guest on his country's political and socio-economic development in the first seven months of this year, saying the situation in Cambodia's border area with Thailand was stabilising, creating conditions for Cambodia to improve and enhance co-operative ties with Thailand.

On the same day, the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

On Wednesday, the delegation laid a wreath at the Independence Monument and the Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Monument. They are scheduled to conclude their visit today. — VNS

Vietnam wanted to use Cambodia force to fight the militant. Don't be fooled. Let them fight their own battle. Khmer lost enough life when dealing with Vietnam. If they cross to our border than I suggested to hit them a few round and let it goes to fight Vietnam army but don't chase them into Vietnam territory or try to capture them because you really don't know who is who. Plus, why fight those militant for Vietnam? It could be Vietnam game. For over thirty years, things are quite, there is no movement and all of the suddent, there is movement? Don't fall for the trap or allow them to use Cambodian soldiers to fight the militant. Vietnam might be testing how strong Cambodian army too. Vietnam also has strong relationship with the US, if it wanted to get rid of the militant then they can use the US force to do it. Vietnam can invade Cambodia on the ground that Cambodia army cross their border, then we really walk into the trap. There were talk about the movement oversea but their people is not going to jeopardize the country stability, they willing to sacrafice their democracy for the sake of stability. I met many leaders and freedom lovers and wanted to overthrow the Vietnam government but they will not do it for the sake of their country stability. They all fell that Vietnam will turn into democracy in the future and election will be held and people has all the freedom to participate in politics etc.
