Cambodian Rice Exporter Eyes for Middle East

These RICE be on the exhibition in Dubai on November 3-5 this year.

Phnom Penh, September 6, 2011 –The Cambodian rice exporters will depart for the Rice International Conference and Exhibition (RICE) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Senior Minister H.E. Cham Prasidh, Minister of Commerce said in a press conference yesterday.

The RICE will host in Dubai on November 3-5 this year and there are at least 15 Cambodian rice exporters and producers to attend the conference, he said.

There are no any deals are going to sign in the forum, but Minister of Commerce said Middle East could be a main potential market for Cambodian rice in the future.

“The expo will make Middle East know Cambodian rice”, he said.

Mr. Faisal Ali Mousa, Chairman of the Ideal Idea Events of RICE said United Arab Emirates is a re-exported rice country.

In 2009, United Arab Emirates re-export rice around US$ 15 billion and have rice buying deal with 32 countries, except Cambodia, he said.

In the first semester of the year, the Cambodia rice export volume reached US$ 45.6 million and the government of Cambodia plan to export around 1 million tons of rice by 2020.

The price of rice will go up in the country because Cambodian have to compete with the world market !!

Cambodia government need to take back lands from Rich-Tycoon and Powerful family stole from the STATE! Lands belonged to state and people of cambodia..
