Cambodia is in dangerous zone. Cambodia leadership will be tested shortly after due to China superpower in Cambodia. U.S sees little interest in southeast asia in the last decade and now it pays the price. China spreads not only business chips but also military reinforcement.

Chinese manufacturing, money laundering, and illegal smuggling in Cambodia is unstoppable. China controls fully Cambodia economy and politics.

Only one way out of this trap, Cambodia should rely on its self. Reducing debt from China while remaining good relationship. With the U.S, Cambodia should show its willingness toward the West undoubtedly.

China or U.S? you decide, sir.

You don't need to decide. China has relationship with other middle east leaders; I don't see anybody asking them to pick one. Cambodia can have mutual relationship with both countries. I agree with self sufficient through economic. Have we produce any product? All product are imported; I assumed you probably blame the leader again right? Cambodia need time to grow to develop industrial to creat goods from Cambodia. Please stop your ideology of chosing East or West crab.

Cambodia has always stand in middle ground between the east and west. It's alot better for Cambodia to be friend with America, Russia, China, France, or England. If America see great interest in Cambodia, America should invest more. China is already ahead on this. When dealing with Cambodia, America is too concern about its own political influence before economic. Ameria has been very double-standard with Cambodia. On the other hand, China didn't concern much about Cambodia's politic or human rights issue except economic. Since Cambodia is in a state of economic reconstruction, China's economic assistence bring great soothing. what China doing is appearantly winning the heart and mind of Cambodia. America realize that Cambodia could potentially be a military strategic location. By having Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos distance themselves from China, America could contain China from spreading influence into Southeast Asia. Cambodia must be very cautious not to have too much influence on either side of the big power players. This could be dividing up Cambodian again which could lead to another breakdown in government and may lead to civil war again. This is how it could all be starting, a repeat of history not too long ago. When 2 big superpowers collide, usually the little country like Cambodia gets hurt. I'm sure all of us remember the Vietnam War and the political colateral damage of that war in Indochina.

The assessment of above comment is corrected and it is true khmer looking for the best interests of Cambodia not the fake "True Khmer" wanted to see the country goes up in flame and telling people to take side which will ended up for people take different side and become Cambodia internal conflict which is very dangerous. I really admire your statement above. Don't be fooled by taking side between US and China.
