With its national union preparing to host the first Angkor 10s women’s rugby tournament, women’s rugby in Cambodia is experiencing further profile will help it continue to grow.

The Cambodia national team will compete against near neighbours Lao in the competition and the organisers are also looking for further entries.

With rugby remarkably being the only registered sport for women in the country, union officials are hoping to use the Angkor event to attract greater exposure to the sport and with touch rugby becoming popular, there is an opportunity to further grow the game.

The organisers are seeking entries from all around the local area as well as any invitational sides who are looking for touring opportunities.

The ANZ Royal Angkor 10’s takes place on 4th November 2011. For more details contact james.sterling@yahoo.co.uk
