Cambodia today is a country plagued by a crisis within its judiciary. Critics claim the police are corrupt and the justice system favours only the rich and the powerful.

This absence of the rule of law is viewed as one of the most enduring legacies of the Khmer Rouge.

The purpose of the much-vaunted Khmer Rouge tribunal is not just to bring those responsible to justice, it is also a beginning in judicial reform. But is it having an impact?

In this edition of 101 East, we ask, is there true justice for ordinary Cambodians today?

This shows the lawlessness and the injustices in Cambodia. The rich and the powerful are above the laws, but the poor and the powerless have always been wrongly convicted.
