The ambassador said during a farewell call on the Cambodian deputy prime minister Hor Namhong.
"Based on good cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries, Spain expressed her full support for Cambodia in the UNSC's non-permanent member in 2013-2014 term," Koy Kuong, the spokesman for the ministry of foreign affairs, told reporters after the meeting.
"Cambodia wants this role at the UNSC because since 1955, Cambodia has never had any role at this body," he added.

Just curiosity, could any body explain the pro and con and how much will cost Cambodia each year? It is great that Cambodia wanted to part of the world. Cambodia is young and struggling economically. Are we ready for it?
