THE KHMER PEOPLE, LIKE THE THAI PEOPLE, WANT A REGIME CHANGE
The Sam Rainsy Party congratulates the Puea Thai Party on their landslide election victory and sends its best wishes to Thailand’s first government led by a female Prime Minister.
The opposition’s victory in Thailand, a country geographically and culturally close to Cambodia, constitutes a strong encouragement for the opposition forces in this country.
It is obvious that
- The Thai people, like the Khmer people, reject the status quo and want to see a regime change.
- The Thai people and the Khmer people loathe the conservative and heavy establishment in their respective countries (*).
- The Khmer people and the Thai people want social justice. They want to see a reduction in the gap between the rich and the poor and between the cities and the countryside. They call for the implementation of effective pro-poor policies.
- If the next elections scheduled for 2012 and 2013 in Cambodia were as transparent and as honest as those held on 3 July 2011 in Thailand, the opposition in this country would also win a landslide victory.
- For any opposition leader who consistently defends the poor but has been forced into exile and prevented from taking part in election campaigns in his country, physical presence is not as important as virtual presence in securing victory for his party, with the use of modern information and communication technologies.

(*) The establishment in Thailand has been described in many reports and press articles. In Cambodia it is represented by the Samdechs and the Oknhas, the omnipotent and arrogant CPP government officials and army generals, the CPP-affiliated heartless tycoons and other unscrupulous businessmen, the land grabbers and destructive loggers, the corrupt judiciary, and those brainless members of the royal family who have nothing to sell to the CPP but their royal names.

Sometime, I wonder who are the advisor to Sam Rainsy? I guess you got what you pay for. Why would you send congratulation letter with more attack on CPP? Do you think PT respect you for doing that? You should send in unifying voice as Khmer unite each other to protect Khmer land.

Huh? Hor Namhong of Hun Sen member is also sending congraduation message to Thailand new prime minister, Yinluck. It's OK, but not for Youn-hater, Sam Rainsy? Oooh geez..don't tell Sam is being kicked to the curb already just because Hun Sen kept him away from Cambodia. Do you know how much more land Khmer lost to Youn since Sam went on exile in France. Var Kimhong is just signing it away to Youn like there's no tomorrow. This is what Youn want Hun Sen to do, get rid of Sam so Youn won't have to deal with anyone raising alarm of taking Khmer land. Who does anything when Youn encroached into Khmer land? No body, except Sam, correct? I think alot of us are falling for Hun Sen's charms casted by Youn. Damn..Khmer are so easily fooled, no wonder we lost so much lands to Youn and Siem. We fight among ourselves so our enemies can win. This is our greatest weakness.
I would encourage people with the knowledge of where the land was sold or taken, put a list together and prices and who it was sold to etc. otherwise it just I heard about it, opposition said it, my friends said it. We know they are bad but what proof? Bring out the map and let examine it or send it the government to take care of it and if they dont then you can blast them. Let be specific of where it is.
6:34 AM, I hope you're not a defender of Hanoi, Vietnam. To you, I guess maybe there is no such thing as lands being taken by Cambodian authority given to Vietnam. I guess you think or don't know about Khmer living along Vietnam keep having their farmland shrinking and disappear in front of their eyes. I hope you don't think this is a made story and think Vietnam is very innocent for all of this. Do you know what Sam Rainsy accused of? A destruction of government property. That government properties were border posts illegaly planted inside Cambodia on Khmer villagers' farmlands by Hanoi agents and the colaborators. Those farmlands were inherited for many generations and suddenly those farmers were told that their farmlands are inside Vietnam and must move out. Villagers were crying and screaming for help but only heard by Hun Sen's deaf ears. When Sam Rainsy stepped in, Hanoi find that quite offensive and ordered Hun Sen to place charges to get him out the picture. There is no way of blasting those Hanoi agents from ripping off more Khmer land and give it to Vietnam as long as Hun Sen is Hanoi's puppet. And Hanoi will make him a puppet until he dies. So until then, don't be surprised if more Khmer lands are being given to Vietnam.
