Sam Rainsy is wrong to call for Arab-style revolution in Cambodia

Re: Sam Rainsy in Tunisia to prepare People Power in Cambodia

Cambodia is much different from all of those countries that you described, Mr. Sam Rainsy. The difference is that Cambodia is smarter and they will not be fooled to risk their economic stability for long-term economic disaster and insecurity. They will show up at the poll if they don't like you. I appreciate your enthusiasm for wanting to change new leadership of Cambodia. While, I agreed with you in your idea, I do not agree with you in that method of madness.

Cambodia has been stable for about 20 plus years. Economically, Cambodia cannot afford instability and insecurity. Cambodia cannot afford a weak government either. I would urge that people sit back and relax and look at those countries that wanted regime change and where they are at today before you started your fire cracker. If we haven't learned from our own past 4 regime changes in Cambodia, then we should wait first. Since when the last time we ever have any peace?

Let's examine the four regime changes Cambodia went through and what did they benefit us? During Sihanouk's Sangkum Reastr Niyum regime (សង្គមរាស្រ្តយំ), you can't even speak against the king as you witnessed what had happened to Son Ngoc Thanh and his followers who were lined up in the firing squad. The Lon Nol regime, it was another disaster leading toward the KR. The KR regime turned the clock back to year zero and caused the deaths of 2 million Cambodians in 3 and a half years. We now have the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and have Cambodia's first real stability and now people wanted to copy Tunisia and others. ឃើញដំរីជុះចង់ជុះតាមដំរី (See an elephant defecate and wanted to defecate like an elephant?), You've got to be kidding me? Khmers have seen enough regime changes. If I were you, I would sit back with some pop corn with sunglasses to enjoy myself watching those birds that wanted regime change at other countries and look at where they are today. I would learn from their mistakes. Changing regime is easy but maintaining the country afterward is the difficult task. Businesses, investors and others would move out, no jobs for people, no foods etc. You remember Soviet Union switching to democracy, everybody fought for their own dependence, they can't even find bread to eat.

Iraq is another disaster right now in front of your eyes, where they are at now economically and security after Saddam? Iraq fought each others and bomb went off in the middle of the market daily. Is that the regime change you want to see? How many more examples should I bring in order for you to understand that it is not the right action for Cambodia changes. Why don't you organize your political party and work your way to get back into the ring and gain your support from people in a peaceful ways?. The way you are approaching leadership change is not looking out for the national interests of Cambodia. You are nothing but about yourself and power hunger.

I would respect you more if you can call all the opposition leaders together and create a unity under the democracy banner and run your campaign against CPP in a peaceful manner. Cambodia is not a winner-take-all-system, you can remain in opposition in the parliament to ensure that the government is looking after the best interests of Cambodia. You know full well that the CPP is not an undisputed champ, Funcinpec beaten them in the past. It can be beaten again with proper campaign strategies. Are you afraid that you might not be the PM candidate? Are you afraid to have opposition election to pick who can be the PM candidate to represent in the upcoming election? Are you a dictator yourself under the disguise of the opposition banner? Mu Sochua or Kem Sokha can probably beat you for PM candidate.

To have a unified and strong opposition is a must in Cambodia but winning the election with the current NEC and corrupt regime is impossible. Only when the general election is run and supersvised by the international community like in 1993 that a free and fair election can be achieved. But is this a priority for the intn'l community? If not, the only alternative is a bloody revolution to rescue our motherland from the Viets. Are we blind or do we pretend to ignore that srok 'Khmer' is now dominated by the Viets, economically, administratively,...

For Kaun Khmer, I urge you to talk to your parents the 4 regimes changed Cambodia went through, they will tell you what was like and what was the revolution all about. It is not as glamour like you saw on TV especially PM Hun Sen stated that he too has his own groups to rally against Sam Rainsy group; this is a disaster waiting to happen and there will be blood bath. If you claimed the NEC is corrupted, perhap find way to change NEC or install your member into the NEC to ensure fairness. If you examine the last election data, CPP won like landslide. Cheating? It is not enough voting number to even contest CPP cheating. CPP dont need to cheat. They won like a landslide, the data speak for itself. The more blood bath Cambodia faces, the more people die, the more people die, the weaker Cambodia, the weaker Cambodia, the better chance for foriegn to take over and control all functions. There are many educated Cambodian, they are not blind claimed by Sam Rainsy. They too own houses, businesses etc. What make you think they are going to allow foriegner to take over their country? This is a scare tactics used in Cambodian politics over hundreds years. I am not saying dont be concerned; we all should be concerned but not to the level to creat paranoid feelings that every Vietnamese is Cambodia enemy. There are good and bad people everywhere. Do you think those Vietnamese can just go grab a peice of land without buying it? There is no such thing as free land in Cambodia or anywhere on earth. People has to work hard to earn money and purchase property etc. If you have money you can buy property, land etc. If you dont have money, you probably cannot sleep in the train station or the parks. Vietnamese or not, if you dont have money to purchase things, then you will go hungry or be homeless. If you are Cambodian and you dont have money, then you are no different from the homeless Vietnamese living on the street of Phnom Penh.

The world is moving fast toward DEMOCRACY.
21st century is a new transparent page for people around the globe to detach themselves from autocratic and corrupt regimes.

If you are against this wheels you are out and you will end up like Nicolae Ceaușescu of Romania in 1989.

Those who glorify autocrat are those who enjoy corrupted life and often careless about people life.

Arab are the same as Cambodian. They too experienced enough of life under one man state. Million are living in poverty and deprived from freedom of speech and liberty.Enough is enough!.

We must free our nation from the Hanoi's hybrid puppet government if we fail we will become refuges in our own country just like our people in Kampuchea Krom.

Warrior Blood is just getting confident now that he has written many blogs on here. Feels like he got to talk about every subject like he or she knows something. This guy has probably never been to Cambodia before, now, or after to see that anywhere besides the main tourist sites are nothing but poor people. Which equates to roughly 90%. I am fortunate to be born in America and have a good education that landed me a good job to be able to visit my homeland once a year for vacation. And I will tell you like everybody else like you Warrior Blood," people are still poor as hell!" if you ain't corrupt, you ain't making shit. And I can attest to that because I know people who live here in the U.S are making more in Cambodia than here. Why? Because they bought there way through the officials and hanging photos of your lovely three stooges samdech.

So while you sit there writing blogs of your opinion as if you were an official writer for khmerization, I will continue to support the non-profit organization that provides food and shelter for disadvantage kids.
