Phnom Penh (DPA)- The son of a prominent Cambodian businessman was arrested on suspicion of beating a toll booth operator who demanded a standard 25-cent fee, a news report said Thursday.
Pao David, the son of tycoon Khy Pao, was arrested Tuesday after the beating at a toll road in the Cambodian capital, the Phnom Penh Post newspaper reported.
The reported victim, Pin Ratana, said the incident occurred after the 23-year-old drove through a toll gate. After he asked the man to return to pay the fee, Pin Ratana said he was attacked.
'He stopped his car and then used a big tube and the wrench from his car to hit me several times on my right shoulder, my right hand and my thumb,' he said, adding that Pao David hurled the wrench at him as he fled.
'He threatened that he would use the gun from his car to shoot me,' Pin Ratana was quoted as saying.
Rights activists regularly complain that Cambodia's rich enjoy virtual impunity from prosecution.

this kind of spoil basterd(kid) if i live there i would take action against him already dont care how rich and powerful he was.
This is the thing that I hated about living in cambodia, because of these gansgter kids who came from rich powerful family, these kids usually robbed people, intimidating society, they don't give a damn about police or authority at all...I hope the LAW in cambodia get tougher with these kind of people! I hated them very much!! These kind of people in cambodia must punish real hard...
The problem in cambodia still has very weak law in the country that's why..? Most of the rich family, high ranking official family still sitting above the law, because of $$$$$$$ If their son, daughter, nephew, close relative commited crimes, they could get away...jut throwing money$$ at the victims face..!! This is why cambodia will not improve? I hate that shit..!!
He should be locked up and pay big fine. There are many children of rich people in Cambodia behave like this. I wonder if their parents ever taught them from right and wrong?
When your father is a member of CPP, you can get pretty much get away with anything. Laws of the land don't apply to those guys, only innocent Khmer who are poor and not Hun Sen lovers.
I hope that this little Fuker gets locked up and banged up in prison, but I'm sure that he will get away with the help of his rich and corrupted dad.
