One of three men arrested for spying for Cambodia is reported to have escaped, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva (pictured) said on Thursday.
"I've received a report that a spy for Cambodia who was trying to gather information in Thailand has escaped," Mr Abhisit said.
"This proves that Thailand is not fabricating the spy case and we'll have to examine the evidence further," he said.
Police on Tuesday arrested a Thai, a Cambodian and a Vietnamese in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak district, near the Thai-Cambodian border.
The suspects carried maps with military bases marked on them, but they denied they were spying.
The Cambodian government has accused Thailand of "deceitful fabrication" intending to mislead the public and malign Cambodia.

What is going on with this stupid leader of thailand. What a joke!!!
Love khmer
This stupid leader probably killed the man and said he escaped.
He has already killed hundreds of protestors of his own people.
Maybe it was the Thai spy who got away. The Vienamese and Cambodian spies decided to remain capture to spy more on Thailand.
I do believed that the three guys were Thai national, they let them go freely after well paid$$$$! Yep, you guy are right, this Thai leaders are stupid and jackAsssssssshit!
How ta hell you escape from Thai millitary jail...??
12:09 AM, I have to agree with you. It happened in the past. I think they killed him and said that he escaped or maybe they have no evidence against him so they just released him secretly to save embarrassment to the Thai government. If in the next few days, the man did not return home to his family, then we can conclude that he was probably killed by Thai police or secret agents. This is the Thai dirty trick.
