Unesco is likely to postpone consideration of Cambodia's plan to manage the immediate surroundings of the Preah Vihear world heritage site, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva (pictured) said on Friday.
Mr Abhisit was speaking after receiving a report from Suwit Khunkitti, the caretaker national resources and environment minister who led a Thai team to attend an unofficial meeting on Preah Vihear temple with Cambodia at Unesco headquarters in Paris, France.
Mr Suwit had told him Unesco was likely to postpone consideration of the management plan, as requested by the Thai government.
The prime minister re-affirmed that a meeting of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee would certainly be held in Cambodia, as stated earlier by Gen Prawit Wongsuwon, the caretaker defence minister.
Cambodia seemed intent on making the world believe that the bilateral mechanisms between Thailand and Cambodia were not functional, Mr Abhisit said.
That was not correct. The two countries could still make agreements through bilateral mechanisms, Mr Abhisit said.

Khmer Chea Preah Ream, Siam Chea Preah Leak
An old saying of Khmer ancestors clearly warns to many Khmer generations to come, “Khmer Chea Preah Ream, Siam Chea Preah Leak, proyat ah dey nov douch Champa Islam Mohamed.” In other words, Preah Ream and Preah Leak are the Legend Story of Indian Ramayana. Ream was the eldest brother of Leak. So here, Ream is the Khmer eldest brother of Leak/Siam. Be ware of Leak who would plunder all Khmer lands like Champa Islam Mohammed who was being brutally wiped out on the World Map by Yuon in the east of Cambodia, known today as “Hue or Central Highlands”.
There are worrying signs of tension between Preah Ream and Preah Leak over Preah Vihear temple. This could escalate into war. It is a hot issue it has arisen from misunderstanding of the International Court of Justice Judgment of 15 June 1962 on the part of Thai politicians, The tensions have been exacerbated by incorrect and fraudulent by Thai partisans.
Thailand and Cambodia troops exchanged deadly gunfire in the 4/02/11 and 22/04/11,with show Cambodia invocations of foreign threat, the Angkorean legacy and Khmer national pride. many Cambodians said that the deadly gunfire had a positive side in that it served as a warning to Thailand that Cambodia is not as weak as Thai thought. They are strong now and can protect their country sovereignty and their heritage. And Cambodia will not let any invasion or insults from other countries.’ In addition, the exchanged gunfire reversed the flood of Thai products into Cambodia, a reversal that has enabled Cambodians ‘to show their culture’, a return to the authentic.

I would rather say Khmers are like Rama ព្រះរាម whilst Siams andhka សៀមអន្ធកា are like Ravana រាវណ or ក្រុងរាពណ៏.
ព្រះលក្ស្មិ is much much better than the stupid Siamese !
