The Cambodian Government is requiring an advertising agency to remove advertisements of the May 21 Judgement Day prediction.

If you haven't already heard, Harold Camping, Family Radio and their followers have placed around 2,000 billboards, posters, and benches around the world with the following message: "Judgement Day, May 21, 2011. The Bible Guarantees It."

The Rapture hysteria is increasing, with many followers giving up everything they own to spread this message across the world. They feel they are trying to warn us, to save our souls. In reality, they are the ones that will need "saving" when this Judgement Day doesn't happen. With his confident voice and Bible number crunching, he has convinced untold number of people that they will be joining Jesus in heaven on May 21st, or they will suffer greatly until God destroys the world on October 21, 2011. This man is ruining lives, and other Christians are concerned about the reactions and actions of his followers on May 22nd.

Well, Cambodia is not going to stand for this end-of-the-world nonsense. Most of the country's 15 million people are Buddhist. The government will not allow any sort of Christian proselytising. According to the Cambodia Daily newspaper, the city informed Cambo Advertising Co, the firm hired to post the messages, to remove them from the billboards.

In this case, it's a good thing the government stepped in. Camping already has people in the U.S. all shook up over this nonsense, as shown by questions being asked all over the internet. At least the misinformation won't be spread to Cambodia.
