The visiting Vietnamese prime minister had ordered his government to summon Thai ambassador to express Vietnam's concerns about the 2 days armed clashes along the Cambodian Thai border that saw at least 11 dead and 43 wounded.

Mr. Sri Thamrong, advisor to Prime Minister Hun Sen, said Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told Prime Minister Hun Sen during a meeting at the Peace Palace on Saturday afternoon that Vietnam was very concerned about the Thai aggression against Cambodia and that he had ordered the Vietnamese government to summon the Thai ambassador to Vietnam to express Vietnam's concerns about the Thai aggression. "The Vietnamese government has summoned Thai ambassador to Hanoi to be informed of Vietnam's concerns and asked the Thai ambassador to convey this message to the Thai leaders", Mr. Thamrong quoted Vietnam's PM of telling Prime Minister Hun Sen during more than one hour of meeting on Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Thamrong said the Vietnamese PM had expressed such concerns after Prime Minister Hun Sen had informed him of 2 days of fighting between Cambodian and Thai troops along the border. "This meeting was conducted in a good atmosphere in the name of good neighbours. During that opportunity, Samdech Decho (Hun Sen) had informed (the Vietnamese PM) of the war situations a long the Cambodian-Thai border at Ta Krabey and Ta Moan Thom temples which have been violated repeatedly by Thai troops. Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung had also expressed his concerns", said Mr. Thamrong.
