A senior Vietnamese military officer affirmed that the Vietnamese army and people have always placed importance on promoting its solidarity and friendship with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and the Cambodian people.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Song Phi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army, made the affirmation in Hanoi on March 30 during his meeting with the visiting delegation of Cambodian citizens led by Khun Chhy, former Cambodian Transport Minister.
He affirmed that since the Vietnamese and Cambodian defence ministries signed the protocol on their annual cooperation in 2005, the two countries’ military and defence cooperation has been carried out effectively, helping strengthen the friendship between the two people and armies.
On the occasion, Khun Chhy expressed his thanks to the Viet Nam People's Army for helping the Cambodian people escape from genocide.
He attributed the achievements that the Cambodian people and the RCAF attained in the past time to the friendship, solidarity and effective assistance offered by the Vietnamese people and army.

We don't need any Yuon military personal in our country, very very dangerous for Khmer, there are too many of them in the country already, we don't need anymore Yuon, we need to start kicking some of them out.
Youn(Viet) is a disease that had plaqued our nation since they took that first step into Khmer land after conquering Champa. At first, as refugees of Tai Son rebellion within Annam, they presented themselves as innocense and vulnerable to earn Khmer compassion and trust. As Buddhist, Khmer follow the teaching of Buddhism and helped out their fellow human beings. Khmer didn't think their fellow human being that they were helping turned out to be the theif that eventually take their homeland. This is the way of Vietnam. Just because it show itself as peaceful and sweet, does not mean that it is as peaceful and as sweet as in its mindset. Vietnam is not a very trustworthy nation. Cambodia should always remind herself of the history between Khmer and Youn, when decision is made that will effect the nation.
...Yeah, right on...Without their(YOUN) involvement of getting rid off Polpot genocidal regime, Cambodia wouldn't even exist today in term of independence and properity. Only those Over-sea Khmer traitors who took off abroad during hard time of Cambodia are loudmouthing about YOUNs' sacrifices. Hopefully higher up Youn leadership should look into these responses. But, you are traitors to your own country anyway. So, what is the point to take your perception into account?
