PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, 24 APRIL, 2011-Spokesman for the council of ministers of Cambodia, Mr. Phay Siphan (pictured), said on Sunday that no Cambodian commanders had asked for a negotiation with Thai military commanders at border areas after deadly fighting this week. He rejected rumours that 11 Cambodian commanders asked for a negotiation with Thai troops or that they have surrendered. He said some rumours said that some Cambodian commanders were killed during the fighting.
“We completely rejected the rumors and reports that 11 Khmer commanders asked to negotiate with Thailand, and no military commander died at the border areas during the fighting", Phay Siphan said.
“The rumor is a Thai intention to spoil the information,” he stresses.
