Business ties
Representatives of 38 South Korean firms met with counterparts from 80 Cambodian companies at the Commerce Ministry yesterday to foster business ties and expand trade.
“This mission in Cambodia is focused on agriculture, the garment industry, construction and real estate in particular, and aims at providing opportunities for the investors to better understand these industries...,” said Jang Gyu-Hwa, Vice Chairman of the Korea Importers Association.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Commerce Cham Prasidh said he encouraged South Korean firms to invest in the Kingdom, highlighting the duty-free status many Cambodian exports enjoyed abroad.
Figures from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency show Cambodia’s exports to Korea soared 65 percent to $10.2 million, while Korean exports increased to $58.9 million, during the first two months of the year, compared to the same period 2010.
