This week's People & Power examines allegations that officials in Cambodia have been profiting from illegal land seizures in the country.
Following the abolition of property rights by the Khmer Rouge, a law passed in 1992 stipulated that anyone who has occupied land legally for five years is the rightful owner.
Unfortunately it seems that Cambodia's prime minister, Hun Sen, is ignoring the law with huge parcels of land being seized and sold to developers.
Squalid camps are developing as more people are evicted from their homes, disease is rampant and in a country where 70 per cent of the population relies on land for subsistence farming, ordinary Cambodians now face an uncertain future.
Filmmaker Eric Campbell reveals the extent of the land grabs, the far-reaching nature of corruption and the impact it is having on a country that is still trying to recover from the damage inflicted by decades of conflict.

Khmerization,
Thank you very much for the 2 saddening videos you have posted on your site.
The Vietnamese and the Thais are bad, but that is understandable since they are of different races and always want Cambodian land.
The most disgusting thing is that the suffering of the Cambodian people always begin with the Khmers, themselves.
The rich and powerful Cambodians usually are greedy, eternally selfish and totally heartless.
It is very saddening, indeed to watch these videos and see how the poor Khmers have been treated by the very people in power who are supposed to help them.
All my life, I have never seen a really good Cambodian government at all.
The king of Cambodia is a useless king. This is where he is needed the most to help alleviate the suffering of his people and yet he is so scared of losing his throne that he does nothing, but unknown to him, his throne has already been lost in meaning and spirit among the Khmer people even though his physical and useless throne still exists in his irrelevant palace.
Could you kindly post these 2 videos on KI Media site as well, please?
Once again, thank you very much for all the hard work you have been doing in maintaining this site.
Sincerely;
Anet Khmer
Ou Virak is certainly a brave and caring Cambodian who risks his life everyday to help the poor Khmers fight back against the CPP corrupt government of PM Hun Sen.
Shame on you, Mr. Hun Sen. You used to be poor, but your government has never been for the poor.
Shame on you, king Sihamony! You are going to be the last and most useless king Cambodia has ever known!
