The Record on the Road, Cambodia

The Record

I am a dentist who volunteered on a humanitarian aid mission to Cambodia for about two weeks. The Pacific Partnership mission was sponsored by the U.S. Navy and the University of California at San Diego. The medical and dental doctors and staff treated almost 35,000 patients for free onboard the Navy hospital ship Mercy and at various remote sites throughout Cambodia. This picture was taken in front of a Buddhist monastery in Sihanouk Province. The temperature was often over 100, with humidity to match. There was also a rainstorm most afternoons.

Tip: Cambodia is a poor country, so your dollar goes a long way.
