Tragic accident in Sihanoukville, local musicians died

Sihanoukville. The members of a local musician group, OCT Brand, were involved in a tragic accident on the Sihanouville-Phnom Penh highway this Saturday with the death of five persons and 8 injured. The event took place in the Prey Nop District, Andaung Thma commune, when the truck bringing the musicians to Phnom Penh crashed a tuk-tuk that was loaded with inflammable plastics, gasoline and passengers. At 9:45 of Saturday morning, the truck that was bringing the singers and musicians of OCT Brand, a local group that animated weddings in the province, crashed in the Tro Pang Sroy village, between kilometers 186 and 187 of National Road 4, a tuk-tuk that could not move to the other side of the road and was unable to avoid the truck. The impact caused an explosion. Mr. Oung Vuthy, officer of the traffic station at Prey Nob district said to I see Cambodia that Mr. Nak Sarang, 33 years old, a well known singer in the province, died. Also Miss Poung Mara, 20, and Poung Sanita, 26, and other two persons, lost their lives in the accident also. Other 8 persons were brought to the hospital with serious injures caused by the fire.
