Thailand reinforced more troops to border areas

Thailand has continued to reinforce more troops and armours to the border areas as tensions over Preah Vihear dispute has heightened in the wake of continued pressures by the Thai yellow shirt protesters on the Thai government.

Reports from the border front line said Thailand had reinforced more troops and armours to border areas along the Banteay Meanchey-Sakeo borders.

A Cambodian border commander told RFA on yesterday, 3rd February that the Thai Army had deployed artillery pieces and machine guns and closed all small border crossings. "We saw they dig their trenches again and deployed one 12 milimetres machine gun, one DK-85 artillery and other support machine guns along TV points 82, 85 and 86. They didn't move out from the areas, they are still there as usual", he said.

Cambodian villagers had confirmed the Cambodian commander's report. "The Thai side had deployed those artillery to protect their borders at Khao Bin Market. The artillery pieces were positioned at points near the market. They dug up the old trenches again and built up sand bags around them", said one villager.

Mr. Suos Sen, chief of Santepheap commune in Sampov Loun district in Battambang province, said he can still cross the border to buy his stock and products from the Thai side of the borders as usual, but said villagers are concerned about the Thai military build up in the area.

A Cambodian border commander said despite no armed clashes in the area, all Cambodian troops are ordered to be on high alert to defend Cambodian territory. "On our side of the borders, we have defended them pretty well as usual, but our troops are deployed along the border and they have not been redeployed to any other areas. We stayed there to monitor the situations", he said.

Whatever, as long as those bastards Siem don't cross that border. As soon as they do, give them one nasty figth to remember so the next generation Siem won't want to fight Khmer again. Nobody wants war but if the Siem want to fight, Khmer should give it. This would be a first time, in a long time for war between Siem and Khmer. Since the last time Khmer fought Siem, Khmer has plenty of payback. Revenge will be bloody sweet.
