Thailand is ready and willing to explain its position in the border conflict with Cambodia to the United Nations Security Council, government acting spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn (pictured) said on Monday.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has asked the UN to intervene in the Thai-Cambodian conflict.
Mr Panitan said that Thailand had previously explained the situation with Cambodia to the UN Security Council and would send additional explanations to the council if Cambodia repeated its complaint.
Mr Panitan said the agenda of the council depend on the decisions of its permanent members and non-permanent members. All the members must agree with the agenda first.
Thailand has briefed its representatives. The council may reach a resolution, but the process is complicated and permanent member countries have the right to veto a resolution.
“Mostly, it considers situations without reaching a resolution. If some country wants to get involved by deploying its forces, that would need approval from the five permanent member countries.
"For an issue to be discussed it must be seen as a serious issue.
"At present, there are the issues in Egypt and Tunisia. The issue of Thailand and Cambodia must follow the procedures. If there is a complaint, we are ready to explain. That is it,” Mr Panitan said.

Thailand, don't want a third party mediation clearly stated that it's not interested in seeking peace to resolved the border issue.
What peaceful resolution, where I don't see it happening any time soon. War monger will not ask the military to stop fighting. If Thai is serious about peaceful resolution, let start with accepting the 1962 ruling handed down by the International court. Then we can move to start demarcate the border according to the Siam-Franco 1904-1907 map that was signed by both countries. However, I have not heard the Thai mentioning any of these in their media interviews. Practice what you preach.
Now we can analyse with only just like a small kid way..it's simple..very simple..! and logically..! Have you ever seen Small fish trying to threat the big fish..? If Thailland is a civilization country they won't use power to solve the problem.."Man"we no need in this modern legend with destructing method to solve problem there is only a foolish that like to use this method..If you have a good intension to live longer in peaceful neighbor please don't let's human blood bleeding your country like this..! If you want to obtained a bad historical of your nation let's go.. the true is the true..! Like Buddha advice "if you plant a tree you will get a tree..so if you plant bad tree than you will definitely get the bad tree..!
