

He had accused Nhiek Bunchhay of planning a party coup d'etat on 21st March 2011 by forcing an extraordinary party congress to oust party president Keo Put Rasmy and install himself as president. Lu Laysreng also accused Nhiek Bunchhay of misappropriating funds from the sales of party HQs and secretly receiving more than $6 million donations from a Chinese company without revealing and transferring the money to the party until some part members found out and afterward asked the party to reimburse him of $1.7 million he claimed to have spent to lobby for the Chinese donations of that more than $6 million.
