A Koh Santepheap reporting from the Preah Vihear front line has said that 90 Cambodian families from Dejo Bosbov village near Preah Vihear temple have been evacuated to Veal Thom village in Choam Ksan district on Monday 1st February after Thai troops had sneaked in to hoist Thai flag over a disputed zone near the 5th Gopura opposite the staircase of Preah Vihear temple.

Those villagers had been fed by the (Cambodian?) Red Cross. The source said that on the same day hundreds of Thai troops had pushed in closer to the Cambodian front line. The report said that at 4:45 p.m Monday, the situations have increased to boiling point that can trigger armed clashes any time.

On year ago, Thai troops had hoisted Thai flag on the same spot but it was pulled down by Cambodian troops. The 90 familes were evacuated to avoid civilian casualties in case of an armed clash.

The military situations in Ta Moan temples and in Tropeang Prasat district in Oddar Meanchey remained calm, but Cambodian troops are on high alert due to heavy Thai military presence in the areas.
