Suzanne Mubarak, first lady of Egypt, may have just fled to London, arriving at Heathrow airport, according to unconfirmed reports.

Twitter has been ablaze with tweets that Egypt's First Lady was identified by Egyptian airport workers at Heathrow. The tweets did not cite any definitive source.

Earlier, the Italian newspaper Adnkronos said Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's son fled to London amid violent protests against the government, citing Arabic website Akhbar al-Arab.

The article also said there are unconfirmed reports that Gamal Mabarak (son of Hosni) and his family boarded a London-bound private jet with 97 pieces of luggage on board.

Hosni Mubarak's regime has been under heavy pressure amid heated protests in Egypt. Some of the protestors have been specifically calling for his resignation.

The protests in Egypt are similar to and inspired by the toppling of Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali's presidency in Tunisia, which culminated in Ben Ali's flight to Saudi Arabia.

Tunisia, a northern African nation that's more developed than Egypt, revolted against its heavy-handed government partly due to soaring food inflation and persistently high unemployment.

The unrest in Egypt stems from similar issues.

Secure the airport and borders so these traitors can't escape.

Hun Sen's turn is next. Yes, close airport, seaports and borders so Hun Sen and his family can't escape.
