Persistence is an essential factor in the procedures of transmitting desires into an equivalence of a material success. The basis of persistence is the power of will. Strong desires and will power, if combined together, will become an irresistible pair.
Men who got great success in every major things in life are generally known as cold-blooded, and sometimes ruthless, tyrants. Often they are misunderstood. What they have is will-power, which they mix with persistence and place at the back of their desires to ensure the attainment of their objectives. Toughness and persistence is equal to the character of a man to what carbon is to steel. Now you clearly see that toughness or tyrannical persistence is the only source to great success, don't you?
The majority of people are ready to throw their aims and purpose overhead and give up at the first sign of opposition. Those are the men who are significantly indulged in self-importance over service. They speak softly and act gracefully. This manner can only attract weak people and will fail in everything they do. Weak people are those who are weak in desires and persistence. They did find themselves lacking in persistence. It is like a small mount of fire that make a small amount of heat. Now, we clearly see losers considering themselves as self-important over service and the task at their hands, isn't it? Those losers are mainly good in talking, talking and talking but practically they are useless or weak. The first sign of weak people are jealousy, envy, criticism and anger and they destroyed any thing that they have touched.
From 1980 to 1985, during the dark period, the whole Cambodian nation did not have a police force yet. It was an unlawful state. Anyone could have been raped, robbed and killed without being brought to face the proper court system. I remember when I was in law school, gov't did not have criminal law charges against killers in traffic accident yet because on the streets we don't have cars. In those situations and now, we need people who are strong mentally and physically to run our country. And the good things is that gov't has surrounded itself with top intelligent Khmers or foreign mentors. Now we can imagine that Cambodia's future is strong, not weak. Aren't we?
If the gov't is not strong, the Thais will never act like humans, they will always act like barbarians towards Khmer.

what is your point to all of this? cambodia is still a lawless country right now. there are laws but those laws does not apply to CPP people. It's only apply to the poor Khmers because they can't defend themselves (no money).
I think Mike's philosophy is good, but he preached the wrong message here by trying to angelize the Hun Sen regime and to demonize the oppositions. Sam Rainsy is his usual target, but now he turned to use philosophy instead of a vitriolic personal attacks on Sam Rainsy. This is a welcome news, but Mike should be siding with the angels- the opposition side, rather than trying to defend the demons - the Hun Sen regime.

SRP, HRP, and many others are being quite consistence and persistance in spreading their messages to take away powers from the CCP government and its influential Hanoi government that is creating poltical bloodshed in Cambodia. As said, being persistance has its own pro and con. Adolf Hitler of the Nazi, Empero Hirahito of Japan, and Benito Mussalini of Italy of WW2 Axis regime were quite persistance with their ambition. Due to their delusional belief and higly desire to conquer others for the purpose of territorial expansion at any means neccessary, they were miserably anihillated by the Allies forces. Obviously, their persistancy came back and bite them in the ass. Ho Chi Minh and Pot Pot persistancy combine with their ideaology, killed millions of their own people in Vietnam war and the Killing Field. So much for being persistence. Being persistance can a motivating factor to cross certain obstacles, but not necessarily the ultimate will power to achieve any goal. Carbide steel is very strong but breakable because it is brital. As said before, everything has pro and con.

One must know the moment when to stike, not strike at any moment. They were permitted or kept to a minimal from raising their voices and fists against their CPP and Hanoi oppressors. CPP government is making their freedom of speech, express, assemble, a crime. By taking away these fredoms, CPP is slowly sqeezing their life blood. Of course, this would very much brought great excitment for Hanoi, after all, it's Hanoi who is a puppetmaster of Hun Sen, the imfamous CPP leader. Either way, the longer Cambodia being put into this state of social and political quarrel, Hanoi is standing to have an advantage to fullfill its ambition.
In 1980's Cambodia was not a time of peace and stability. Many Khmer are still fighting the communist Vietnam invader that plaque their nation. During this time, it was chaos. Of course there were social problems. Only that small Khmer Rouge group sponsored by Hanoi were running the country. Those individual weren't necessarily mentally or physically strong. Actually, they were peasants with little or no education. Those were the only kind people left avialable. The educated one were killed off in the Killing Field. Those peasants were the best candidates for Hanoi to hand power to. It was Hanoi that taught those peasant leaders how to walk, talk, and act like Hanoi. They were made to become dependent of Hanoi mentoring at all time. Everything they do were dictated by Hanoi. When one of the member decide to run Cambodia without Hanoi involvement, he was put in prison in Hanoi for 10 years, does Pen Sovan ring any bell?

If someone else took over Hun Sen, that someone may not listen to Youn orders. This is why it is a must that Hun Sen rule Cambodia for as long as he lives. You should never assumed or underestimated politicians such as Sam Rainsy or Khem Sokha lacks experience to lead Cambodia. What qualification does Hun Sen have when he first lead Cambodia, obviously not very much. Hun Sen was proped up by Youn to run Cambodia. You should not assumed that anyone other than Hun Sen is not capable to run Cambodia. If given an opportunity, Sam Rainsy might do a better job. 10:19 I can see EXACTLY what you saw, the reason Yourn keeps Hun Sen in power for so long because they want Yourns and their spy net works in Cambodia to take roots.
Also, they are planting other Yourn roots through Yourn farms from land concessions, Yourn Super markets, Yourn associations, Yourn hospitals in Cambodia, those are just channels to bring more Yourns to Cambodia
